Nordhausen at the Reichshofrat

Nordhausen was once a free imperial city and was directly subordinate to the emperor. Therefore, all disputes and lawsuits had to be brought to the Reichshofrat in Vienna. A research team led by Dr. Stephan Wendehorst, has recorded the Nordhausen events.

At the 14. August 2024 The new special volume of the Nordhausen “Yellow Series” was published with the title “Nordhausen at the Reichshofrat / “Regesten”. The volume documents the results of the development project made possible by the Friedrich Christian Lesser Foundation on the Nordhausen legal disputes before the Vienna Reichshofrat from the middle of the year 16. century to 1802. Buy now
